    • A review of metaverse development and its application prospect in building construction

    • Driven by the COVID-19, the concept of the meta universe has gradually emerged, and its application in education, commerce, industry and other fields has become increasingly widespread. With the rapid development of building informatization and digital technology, the metaverse plays an increasingly important role in the intelligent development of the construction industry. This article introduces the latest developments and applications of the concept of metaverse, focusing on the relationship between metaverse and building information technology, as well as the potential applications of metaverse in the field of architecture. The analysis results indicate that the development of the metaverse relies on the integration of existing digital technologies such as augmented reality, digital twins, and blockchain. As a new technology, the metaverse will bring new changes to the production mode of the construction industry and may also give rise to new industrial models.
