    • Aging effect on physical properties of bentonite under high temperature-strong alkaline conditions

    • In the operation of deep geological disposal facilities, the physical properties of MX-80 bentonite deteriorate under high temperature and strong alkali environments. Research has found that the specific gravity, specific surface area, and swelling index of bentonite decrease over time, the content of montmorillonite decreases, the content of sodium feldspar increases, and the adsorbed water content of bentonite particles decreases.
