In this paper the elastoplastic stress fields near joint line in rockmass loaded by compress- shear are analyesd by the line field method in fracture mechanics with Mokr- Coulomb criterion. Through the matching conditions of the elastoplastic fields on their boundary
the relations between the length of plastic zone on the joint line and the compress- shear loads are found
and the fracture criterion of the discrete joint is also obtained
