摘要

在建筑学研究方法的众多主张中

最引人注目的观点是认为存在着经验主义与理性主义两种根本对立的研究方法。但是

在凯文.林奇的城市意象研究中

我们并没有看到这种决然的二元对立。通过对林奇城市意象研究方法（包括对林奇采用的心理学、现象学研究方法

以及所采用的心理学和人类学文献）所作的考察

试图证明建筑学研究可以是实证与思辨、定量与定性、科学与神话的有机统一。建筑学不排斥诗意

建筑学研究同样不排斥诗意盎然的研究方法。

Abstract

The two contrast research methods-empiricism and rationalism-are the most compelling among many arguments in architecture.However

such a definite contrariety cannot be found in Kevin Lynch's study of Urban Image.By an Analysis on the research methods of Kevin Lynch-including his psychological and phenomenological research methods

as well as his psychological and anthropologic references-this paper tries to prove that the research of Architecture may be an organic whole of positivism and dialectic

of quantitative and qualitative analysis

and of Myth and Science.The methodology of architecture does not reject poetry

nor does the Architecture.
